PinStreet. A live, community-powered city map for iOS and Android.
We built the PinStreet iOS and Android apps for The Smart AI: a real-time map where people pin the vibe of a street or flag what feels off, and neighbours nearby confirm it.

What The Smart AI needed.
The Smart AI wanted a map of the real world that updates as fast as a street does: where it is lively, where it is calm, and where something feels off right now.
That only works if posting takes seconds, people nearby see it immediately, wrong or stale information drops out on its own, and nobody’s movements are exposed. It also had to ship on both the App Store and Google Play.
The product, feature by feature.
- 01
Real-time map
Live pins from people nearby on a dark street map, with Vibe and Report one tap away from anywhere on screen.
- 02
Vibes
Tag a spot as cool, lively or calm, with an optional comment, so others can read the mood of a street or venue.
- 03
Safety alerts
Flag tense, uncomfortable or poorly lit areas. Everyone near the pin sees it instantly as a “danger reported nearby” warning.
- 04
Community verification
Nearby users confirm or deny active pins, so accurate information stays on the map and bad information falls off.
- 05
Proximity notifications
Push alerts for critical pins near your current location or the areas you choose to track.
- 06
Ranks and leaderboards
Contributors climb a nearby (5 km) and a global leaderboard, which rewards the people who keep the map alive.
- 07
Fast sign-in
Continue with Apple or Google in seconds, or use email and password.
- 08
Privacy by design
Pin locations are approximated, individual movement history is never tracked, and pins expire automatically.
